In the beginning of all things, when God was creating the heavens and the earth, God made the man and the woman on the sixth day. And this is how he did it!
First, he planted a special garden in a place called Eden. He planted every beautiful tree and every green plant that is good to eat. In the middle of the garden, he planted two trees, the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. And he formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living person. He was called Adam.
Then God took the man and put him into the garden to cultivate and care for it. God said to him, you may eat from every tree in the garden. But you may not eat from that tree in the middle, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. The day you eat of that tree is the day you will die.
Then God looked at the man and saw that he was alone. God said, “It’s not good for man to be alone.” So God made all the animals to pass in front of the Man and the man gave a name to each animal. And whatever name Adam gave to an animal, that was its name. Then the man looked at the animals, but for Adam, no suitable helper could be found.
Then God made a deep sleep to fall on the Man. And while he was sleeping, he took a rib and closed the place with flesh. And from the rib, he made a woman. And when the man woke up, God brought the woman to the man. When the man saw the woman, he said, this is the one! This is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. She will be called woman, because she was taken from the man.”
Therefore, a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. And the man and woman were naked in the garden but were not ashamed.
That is the end of the story.
